Spurs offer updates on 'significant' Harry Kane and Dele Alli injuries ahead of Man City fixtures

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli after their 1-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League .

Spurs took a first-leg advantage in the quarter-finals thanks to the victory in the capital but suffered blows to Kane and Alli.

The club have confirmed that Kane has suffered a 'significant' ankle injury, while Alli fractured his hand in the encounter.

Kane's length of time on the sidelines is not certain yet but he could miss the rest of the season. This is a blow for Spurs ahead of the second leg at Man City next Wednesday, while the Blues also face Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday, April 20.

"Following assessment over the past two days, we can confirm that Harry Kane has sustained a significant lateral ligament injury to his left ankle following a challenge in our Champions League quarter-final, first leg win against Manchester City," Spurs explained on their website .

"Investigations are ongoing and he will continue to be assessed by our medical staff over the coming week.

"We can also confirm that examinations have revealed that Dele Alli fractured his left hand during Tuesday's fixture.

"The England midfielder will now be assessed to determine his availability for this weekend's fixture against Huddersfield Town."
