Spurs news: Troy Parrott warning, Giovani Lo Celso injury optimism, Mauricio Pochettino meeting

There is not much longer to wait now before Premier League action is back.

Tomorrow Spurs take on Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hoping to get back to winning ways against an Eagles side who have enjoyed a fine start to the season.

Spurs have not won since the opening weekend of the season, drawing away games with Manchester City and Arsenal and suffering that shock defeat to Newcastle.

Can they get back on the horse against the side who were the first visitors to their new N17 home?

Here we round up all the biggest Spurs stories from the past 24 hours.

Parrott warning

There is plenty of optimism and excitement around Troy Parrott.

The 17-year-old striker was part of the squad that went on the pre-season tour of the Far East, and has been named in Spurs' Champions League squad for the campaign.

And he has had a good international break too, notching three goals in two games for Ireland's U21s.

He has the world at his feet, but Mauricio Pochettino has issued a warning over his progress.

Lo Celso optimism

Giovani Lo Celso may be injured and may not return to action until at least the end of October, but there is reason for Spurs fans to be optimistic.

Spurs supporters were enraged when he picked up a hip injury in a friendly with Chile.

It was a friendly that saw 10 yellow cards handed out, after all.

But the injury should not be a sign of things to come, if his history is anything to go by.

Pochettino meeting

All of the Tottenham players have returned to Hotspur Way following the international break.

Giovani Lo Celso and Davinson Sanchez have returned with an injury, otherwise the rest have reported a clean bill of health.

After training on Thursday, Mauricio Pochettino held an hour-long meeting with the squad

Here's what was on the agenda for that meeting.

Injury boost

While two players returned from international break with injuries, there was good news from other players.

A number of players are working their way back to fitness at Hotspur Way and did not play for their countries in the past week.

Pochettino will be boosted by the news that as many as four players could return to the fold for the clash with Crystal Palace this weekend.

Aurier's big claim

Kieran Trippier's departure to Atletico Madrid over the summer appeared to leave a hole at right-back.

It was a hole that Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs did not fill.

That left Kyle Walker-Peters and Serge Aurier battling it out for the right-back berth, with Juan Foyth offering a third option.

Aurier was tipped to move away from the club too, but stayed put and he has made a big claim about the "competition for places" at Spurs.
