Spurs news: Top four boost, Luis Campos latest, Jose Mourinho's change, Erik Lamela's return

It is back to Premier League action for Spurs after a midweek trip to Germany in the Champions League.

Not everyone travelled to Europe with qualification already sealed, with Spurs having the luxury of resting players ahead of an important Premier League clash.

A tough trip to Molineux now awaits Jose Mourinho's men, as they look to continue their decent form under the new boss. Spurs have won four of their six games since the former Chelsea man took over from Mauricio Pochettino.

Nuno Espirito Santo's men were also in European action during midweek, with Wolves again chasing a European place next season.

Top four boost

Chelsea's poor run of form over the past few weeks continued on Saturday as they fell to a shock 1-0 home defeat against Bournemouth.

Four losses in the last five Premier League games have allowed the likes of Manchester United and Spurs a chance to capitalise in the race for the top four.

Luis Campos latest

Jose Mourinho has claimed it will not be up to him if Luis Campos arrives at Tottenham as director of football.

Following the appointment of the 56-year-old in place of Mauricio Pochettino just over three weeks ago, his close friend, who he previously worked with at Real Madrid, has also been linked with a switch to north London.

Having hit Burnley for five last Saturday, Spurs finished off the Champions League group stage with a 3-1 defeat against Bayern Munich.

Erik Lamela was in fine form on his last appearance as he played a big role in the convincing 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions league with a majestic display.

The 27-year-old was absent a couple of days later away at Liverpool and he hasn't been seen since due to a hamstring injury.
