Spurs news: Son Heung-min's red card, VAR 'killing the game', Seamus Coleman's intervention

Tottenham Hotspur fans are hoping that a new month can bring about a change of fortunes.

For the second time in the space of a week, Mauricio Pochettino's side were back on Merseyside, this time facing Liverpool's bitter rivals Everton at Goodison Park.

Dele Alli gave Spurs the lead in the second half, before an unfortunate incident occurred in the Everton half.

Son Heung-min tackled Andre Gomes, leading to the midfielder suffering a fractured dislocation of the ankle.

Spurs were unable to hold onto their one-goal lead, with Cenk Tosun equalising in stoppage time.

It was the penultimate Premier League game before the third international break of the season and Spurs do not have a lot of time to reflect on the draw with games against Red Star and Sheffield United this week.

With that said, here's all the news from around the at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the past 24 hours.

Son's red card

Dele Alli said that Son was distraught following his tackle on Gomes which led to him picking up a red card.

And the Premier League has clarified why the midfielder was sent off when it initially looked like he would pick up a booking.

VAR is "killing the game"

Both teams had penalty shouts turned down by Martin Atkinson, with each decision being backed up by VAR after long delays.

And Gary Lineker says that the way VAR is currently being used is bad for the game.
