Spurs news: Sessegnon Liverpool hint, Pochettino's big decision, Gary Neville's verdict

Tottenham will be big underdogs when they take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

The two teams met in the Champions League final in Madrid at the start of June, with the Reds coming out on top following a turgid affair.

Since then, Liverpool have continued to grow, while Spurs have wilted.

What better place to announce that the club are back in business?

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will have some key decisions to make, with certain players back from the treatment table and looking for a start.

All the news and build-up to the Premier League clash is below in our round-up of the biggest stories from the past 24 hours.

Sessegnon hint

Tottenham fans are looking forward to seeing Ryan Sessegnon in action.

The summer signing from Fulham has yet to make his debut for Spurs, having joined the club with an injury he picked up on international duty with England U21s.

But he is back in full training now and could soon feature for the first team.

Spurs take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, which would seem like an unlikely fixture for him to be thrown in.

But have Spurs hinted that he could be in the mix for a place in the squad?

Find out here.

Lineup decision

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will, as usual, have a number of big calls to make.

He has an almost fully-fit squad from which to choose now, meaning there is plenty of competition for places.

But there is one player that Paul Merson believes should not be dropped and is key to getting a result against Liverpool.

And it's not Harry Kane.

Find out who he is talking about here.

Gary Neville calls for calm

It has been a bad start to the season for Spurs.

They were expected to kick on under Mauricio Pochettino, having reached the Champions League final last season, but it has not happened and Spurs have stalled.

They go to Anfield on Sunday in bad form in the league, needing a result.

But it is probably the toughest place for them to go and get one.

Former Manchester United man Gary Neville believes everyone should calm down about Tottenham's form.

Here's what he has said.

Berbatov's message

Dimitar Berbatov was a firm fans' favourite while he was at White Hart Lane.

He may have left to make a big-money move to Manchester United after just two years, but fans look fondly on him and his time with the club, given the number of goals he scored.

The Bulgarian does not like seeing his old club doing badly and he sent a message to Spurs ahead of teir trip to Anfield.
