Spurs news: Pochettino's fresh dilemma, the two transfers the fans want, Danny Rose's future

It has been a busy summer at Tottenham already, but there could still be more to come.

Spurs have broken the club record with the transfer of Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon, while Jack Clarke has joined from Leeds United, only to return to Yorkshire on a season-long loan.

But with one week left in the summer transfer window, Spurs continue to be linked with a number of players, including Argentinian duo Giovani Lo Celso and Paulo Dybala, and Fulham's Ryan Sessegnon.

And below, we take a look at the latest news from Tottenham ahead of their opening day clash with Aston Villa on Saturday, August 10.

Mauricio Pochettino's selection dilemma

Right-back is a spot that is up for grabs at Tottenham, following the departure of Kieran Trippier this summer.

The England international's move to Atletico Madrid has created a problem for Mauricio Pochettino, who has a big decision to make over who he starts at right-back.

Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters are natural right-backs and will be vying for the position on the opening day when Spurs host Aston Villa on the opening day, provided Aurier is fit.

But Juan Foyth gave Pochettino food for thought after his impressive showing against Real Madrid earlier this week.

The Argentine defender nullified the threat posed by former Chelsea star Eden Hazard and gave his manager something to think about with a fine performance at right-back.

However, he then endured a difficult second half as Spurs faced Bayern Munich in the final of the Audi Cup, with the German side's first goal coming from exploiting a gap left by Foyth.

The defender then went off with an injury late on, with Pochettino confirming that he twisted his ankle and that Spurs would have to wait for an update.

But this is set to give Pochettino a fresh dilemma, with a decision to make over who will be his first choice right-back.

What Tottenham fans want

Tottenham fans are hoping for at least two more signings ahead of the transfer window closing.

Midfielders Jack Clarke and Tanguy Ndombele became the first new arrivals for the first team at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in more than 18 months when they signed last month.

But it seems that Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy are not done there.

Several players have been linked with a move to north London, and there are two names that the fans are saying they want.

Lo Celso has been heavily linked with the Lilywhites throughout the summer, and Ryan Sessegnon has also been a long term target for Pochettino.

It seems that Spurs fans have their eyes set on the duo , with some supporters believing that the two players will allow the club to go into the season with the strongest squad possible.

Here's what some Spurs fans have been saying.

Danny Rose's future

He was left out of the travelling squad for Spurs' pre-season tour of Asia, but Danny Rose now looks increasingly likely to stay at Tottenham.

The full-back was not included in the squad that travelled to Asia, with the club allowing him to explore a potential move away.

But he has now been involved in Spurs' last two matches, having played against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in recent days at the Audi Cup in Germany.

And Pochettino's comments suggest that he could now be set to stay in north London, with the Tottenham boss speaking out on his future and transfers in general while in Germany.

"I told you in Singapore and China. I think I was very clear about the situation of the squad. Danny Rose, like another 25 or 26 players, are here and are my players," Pochettino said.

"I don't know what I need to say because I was very clear in the past."

Pochettino said he is not in charge of transfers though, and that he only coached the players he had to try and get the best out of them.
