Spurs news: Mauricio Pochettino downbeat on January transfers, injury boost ahead of Watford

Tottenham need a win on their return to Premier League action this weekend.

A bad week, in which they suffered back-to-back defeat, conceding 10 goals preceded the international break.

And defeat to Watford this weekend does not bear thinking about.

Mauricio Pochettino has held his pre-match press conference, and revealed information on potential January transfers, as well as an injury boost ahead of the clash with the Hornets.

All that and more is below.

Pochettino on January transfers

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he will stick with his players in January despite talk of a squad overhaul in north London.

Tottenham have not enjoyed a good start to the season and a number of the team look destined to depart at the end of the season.

Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld are all out of contract in the summer and will be free to leave, with doubts over the futures of the likes of Serge Aurier, Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama as well.

Champions League proposal

This year's Champions League final may seem like a long way away, given Spurs' start to the tournament, but last year's campaign got off to a similar start.

And if Spurs are to get to the final again this time around, where will it be held? It is due to take place in Turkey, but that could change.

All the info here.

Spurs' left-back situation

Ryan Sessegnon could be in line to make his Tottenham debut very soon after returning to training with the rest of his teammates at Hotspur Way.

But in his way stand Danny Rose and Ben Davies.

The question is: who should be the club's long-term starter?

Injury boost

Mauricio Pochettino also revealed in his press conference that Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon are in full training with the first team.

However, the Spurs boss urged caution over the duo, who are both returning from injury, and says they are "a long way" from where he wants them to be.
