Spurs news: Lucas Moura dilemma, squad revealed vs Red Star Belgrade, Son Heung-min boost

The Champions League is back this week.

And victory away at a hostile Red Star Belgrade could all-but confirm Spurs' place in the knockout stages of the competition.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has a number of issues to deal with heading into the game, namely whether Harry Kane is fit enough to play, having missed the Everton match on Sunday with a virus and if Son Heung-min is in a fit state to start.

The players are out in Belgrade for the clash, with Pochettino holding his pre-match press conference ahead of the game and the media being able to watch open training.

Here we round-up all the biggest stories from around Tottenham in the past 24 hours.

Lucas Moura dilemma

Mauricio Pochettino has something of a Lucas Moura dilemma on his hands.

The Brazilian is undoubtedly talented and he will go down in Tottenham Hotspur folklore for the Champions League semi-final hat-trick against Ajax last season.

But finding a regular place in Pochettino's starting XI has been difficult.

So how does Pochettino solve a problem like Lucas Moura? And what can the player do himself to make him a first team regular?

Alasdair Gold assesses the situation.

Squad revealed for Red Star Belgrade

Tottenham take on Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

And as is often the case with away trips in Europe, the club post a video of the players boarding the plane for the journey.

There was good news for concerned fans over Harry Kane, who missed the weekend's game with Everton, but there were a number of notable omissions from the travelling party too.

Here's what we noticed from the video of the travelling squad.

Son Heung-min red card

Tottenham have been handed a much-needed boost during a season that has stuttered so far.

Spurs let another lead slip through their fingers on Sunday as they drew 1-1 with Everton, with Cenk Tosun equalising in the 97th minute.

Mauricio Pochettino's side did have ten men though, with Son Heung-min seeing red for his challenge on Andre Gomes that left the Portuguese with a fractured ankle.

However, the FA have intervened over that red card decision.

Pochettino on VAR

VAR has come in for plenty of criticism so far this season.

And there is more to come too.

The majority of people could not understand why VAR did not get involved after Son Heung-min was sent off on Sunday.

And now the red card has been overturned, questions are being asked of VAR once more.

Here's what Mauricio Pochettino has said.
