Spurs news: Lo Celso boost, Dier injury concern, Saliba loan deal, Troy Parrott's future

Tottenham continue to be linked with more summer signings.

Giovani Lo Celso is still a person of interest, while there are reports that the club are in for long-time Arsenal target William Saliba.

It's going to be a busy summer at Hotspur Way, with the players all back for pre-season training now.

Here we round-up all the biggest stories from Spurs in the past 24 hours.

Lo Celso boost

Giovani Lo Celso remains one of Tottenham's main transfer targets this season.

The Argentinian was seen as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, whose future remains up in the air.

Lo Celso notched 16 goals for Real Betis in La Liga last season, and scored for Argentina during the Copa America this summer.

And Spurs may have been handed a boost in the Lo Celso chase.

Here's why.

Eric Dier injury

Eric Dier will not be present when the club travel out to the far East next week after picking up an injury.

Dier had a stop-start 2018/19 campaign, having three separate spells on the sidelines.

He missed four games in October and November with a thigh muscle strain, before suffering with appendicitis and needing an appendectomy, which kept him out for more than a month.

Towards the end of the season he suffered a hip injury too, which led to another month out.

But we do not know how long he will be out for this time, because there is some confusion over the extent of his current problem.

Read all about it here.

William Saliba loan deal

Tottenham have made a last-gasp attempt to snare William Saliba from the clutches of big rivals Arsenal.

The 18-year-old defender looked to be heading for the Emirates this summer, but Spurs have moved to try and grab him.

St Etienne want the teenager back on loan with them next summer, which has led to many fans questioning whether he is the right player to target.

Here's why a deal makes perfect sense though.

Troy Parrott's future

Troy Parrott is highly regarded at Tottenham.

The Irish striker has been dubbed the new Robbie Keane, such is his talent.

He starred for the U18s and even made the move up to U23 standard without any trouble.

Can he make the step up into the first team?

The U23s had a game in pre-season against Ebbsfleet on Saturday and there was an indication over Parrott's future at the match in Kent.

Here's what we know.
