Spurs news: Liverpool beaten in poll, Mauricio Pochettino's plan B, Harry Kane's title admission

What is going wrong at Tottenham?

Defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday was wholly unexpected and left many fans and pundits questioning what's happening behind the scenes at Hotspur Way.

And it puts added emphasis on this weekend's North London Derby away at the Emirates.

How can the Argentinian manager turn things around? What does he need to do?

Here we round up the biggest Spurs stories from the past 24 hours.

Pochettino's plan B

Mauricio Pochettino has a number of issues on his plate.

And many of them he can't sort out himself.

The ones he can deal with are on-pitch problems and what made Spurs perform so badly in defeat to Newcastle on Sunday.

Does Pochettino have a plan B? Can he get Spurs firing ahead of the North London Derby this weekend?

Here we take a look at his to-do list this week.

Christian Eriksen reliance

Do Tottenham rely too heavily on Christian Eriksen?

The Dane is undoubtedly one of Spurs' star players, and the uncertainty surrounding his future is not good for the squad.

He has started two of Spurs' three games this season on the bench, being named in the starting XI for the game against Manchester City.

And the stats when he is on the pitch, compared to when he is not, are remarkable.

Here's what we found out.

Harry Kane admission

Defeat to Newcastle United on Sunday left Spurs five points behind Liverpool just three games into the season.

And it has left some pundits to suggest their hopes of a title challenge this season are over.

It is not the start to the season any fan would have wanted, so how does Pochettino put it right?

Harry Kane made an admission following the defeat to the Magpies.

Spurs win Champions League poll

Tottenham were beaten in the Champions League final by Liverpool last season.

It was a disappointing final all told, with Spurs never recovering from the penalty they conceded in the second minute of the game.

And there will be little comfort to Spurs supporters that they do have the edge on Liverpool in one respect - the best game poll.
