Spurs news: Hugo Lloris admission, Champions League boost, Mauricio Pochettino's big call

The Champions League is under way.

Tottenham got their European campaign off to a reasonable start with a 2-2 draw against Olympiacos in Athens on Wednesday night.

It could have been better though, as Spurs let slip a 2-0 lead for the second time in three weeks.

Spurs have returned home already and Mauricio Pochettino will be holding his pre-Leicester City press conference at Hotspur Way later today as the games come thick and fast.

Here we round up the biggest news stories from the world of Tottenham Hotspur in the last 24 hours, including all the reaction to that result in Greece.

Hugo Lloris admission

It was an eventful summer at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Only one big name player left the club in the end, with Kieran Trippier making the move to Atletico Madrid, but there was plenty of speculation of others.

Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld were both tipped to leave, but stayed at the club, while Danny Rose was allowed to stay at home during the club's pre-season tour of the Far East to explore opportunities with other clubs.

And Hugo Lloris has admitted he was surprised by the unsettled nature of the summer transfer window.

Read everything he had to say about it here.

Champions League boost

The first week of Champions League action is done.

But focus will soon turn to gameweek two.

Tottenham will host German giants Bayern Munich at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in two weeks' time.

And they have been handed a timely boost ahead of that encounter.

Pochettino's big call

Ahead of the game against Olympiacos in Greece, Mauricio Pochettino made a big decision.

The squad that travelled out to Athens was missing two players in Danny Rose and Serge Aurier.

And that left Spurs light in the full-back area for the clash.

It caused a bit of a stir on social media, but Spurs reporter Alasdair Gold felt it was the right call to make.

Match action

A point gained or two points dropped?

Probably the latter for Spurs.

A Harry Kane penalty and a Lucas Moura strike gave a sluggish-looking Spurs side a welcome 2-0 lead.

But they threw it away and had to settle for a point from their Greek encounter.
