Spurs news: How Pochettino can save his job, the moment that angered fans, Dier decision

We head into another international break with Tottenham still struggling for any kind of consistency.

It is another two-week break in which manager Mauricio Pochettino has to take stock of things and work out how to get his team back on the right track.

There are plenty of question marks hanging over the Spurs manager's head. Can he steer the team out of trouble?

Here we round-up the biggest stories from around Tottenham Hotspur in the past 24 hours, including a look at what Pochettino needs to do to save his job.

Pochettino saving his job

Tottenham are 14th in the Premier League.

Little under a third of the season has gone by and Mauricio Pochettino's side are in trouble.

The Champions League campaign, bar that shocking 7-2 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, appears to have been an anomaly, with Spurs in control of their destiny. Victory in their next match would see them through to the knockout stages.

But the Premier League form has stuttered.

Spurs have not won in five matches and pressure is building on Pochettino, with some sections of the fanbase calling for his head.

Here's what he can do to save his job.

No high-press

Tottenham teams under Pochettino have been known for their high-press.

But the high-press has been sadly lacking from their play this season so far.

Is it to blame for their poor form and why are the players not doing it anymore?

The supporters have started to notice the problems creeping in and there was one moment against Sheffield United that riled a big section of the fanbase.

Read all about it here.

Dier decision

Eric Dier was once again entrusted with playing in central defence on Saturday.

After a reasonably good performance against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League, he once again partnered Davinson Sanchez at the back against Sheffield United.

But less than two minutes in he was booked, leaving him walking a tightrope for the rest of the match.

And some felt he might have seen red in the second half for a second bookable offence, but the referee kept his card in his pocket.

That decision was analysed on Sky Sports' Ref Watch feature and you can read all about it here.
