Spurs news: Eriksen to Man United, Ndombele delivers Mourinho reminder, Bale transfer talks

Tottenham have yet to push their way into the Champions League places in the Premier League.

Spurs had a great chance to do so when hey played Chelsea last week, but a 2-0 defeat left them six points adrift.

However, Chelsea's defeat on Boxing Day couple with Spurs' win opened the door once more, but a draw with Norwich on Saturday leaves them outside the top four still.

It has been quite the upturn in results under Jose Mourinho since he took over from Mauricio Pochettino, if not performances and the top four is at least not just a dream now.

All the reaction to the draw with Norwich and a look ahead to the January transfer window is in our round-up of the biggest stories below.

Jose Mourinho: Harry Kane is fantastic

Eriksen's future

Christian Eriksen was back in the starting lineup for Spurs and seemingly back to his best.

The Dane has been out of favour, with a transfer away from the club almost inevitable and his performances have slipped with his heart seemingly not in it.

However, he produced a man of the match performance against Norwich and Jose Mourinho was asked about his future.

And while talking about him, Mourinho also lauded Tanguy Ndombele.

Bale talks

The January transfer window is almost upon us.

Will Tottenham be us in the market under Jose Mourinho?

It seems unlikely, with the Portuguese admitting he is happy with the squad he has inherited.

However, defensive lapses will concern him and there could be reinforcements in that area.

There have, however, once again, been links with a certain Gareth Bale returning to Spurs.

Match action

It was not exactly a vintage Tottenham performance on Saturday evening.

And a point away at struggling Norwich did little to help their top four ambitions.

There were positives and negatives from the stalemate at Carrow Road.

Although reporter Rob Guest found more to be negative about in his post match player ratings.

What Mourinho made of the match is right here too.

Max Aarons links

Spurs have been linked with a move for Max Aarons before.

The club are in need of a right-back after Kieran Trippier left for Atletico Madrid in the summer, with Serge Aurier struggling to be the replacement the fans want to see.

Aarons is a young full-back and showed first hand what Tottenham fans can expect when Norwich took on Spurs at Carrow Road on Sunday.

But Canaries boss Daniel Farke is in no mood to negotiate a transfer.
