Spurs news: Dybala transfer warning, squad prepare for Inter Milan, big Fernandes prediction

It's shaping up to be a big week for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

The Lliywhites began the summer by smashing their transfer record to sign Tanguy Ndombele for £63m from Lyon, but there's a feeling amongst fans that more must be done before deadline day.

Ahead of what could be a busy week, here's the news emerging from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Dybala warning

Ex-Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov has a warning for his former club as well as Manchester United amid links to Juventus star Paulo Dybala.

"I am a fan of Dybala. You can see his football intelligence. The thinking, his pass, the left-foot, his shots, his free-kicks, I like him a lot," Berbatov told Metro . "The only thing is that he is not big, he’s small. Will he fit into the Premier League where it’s more physical?

"But you look at other players with his stature – David Silva for example – he’s a legend. It’s important for him to look at those types of players if the deal goes through."

Nani on Fernandes

Another Spurs transfer target is Sporting CP midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Football.london understands that Tottenham are involved in discussions with Sporting over a potential move for the player.

This marks somewhat of a u-turn from the north London outfit as they actually weren't in talks earlier in the window when they were heavily linked with Fernandes, instead just monitoring the situation with him and Man United.

And what ex-United winger has said about the 24-year-old should please both clubs.

"I often said to him, ‘You with the strength you have, if you train a little more you will explode and drive the English crazy," Nani said, as per the Express.

"England is where he will shine, it’s the league where the players get the ball in after every shot, there are spectacular goals."

Squad train for Inter Milan

Tottenham Hotspur are back in pre-season action against Inter Milan this afternoon.

It's been an impressive build up to the 2019/20 campaign for Mauricio Pochettino's side as they look to be in good shape ahead of next weekend's Premier League opener against Aston Villa.

Following games against Juventus, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, attentions now turn towards the visit of Antonio Conte and his Inter Milan side.

The Spurs players were put through their paces at Hotspur Way on Friday ahead of Sunday afternoon's kick-off.

Take a look at the best images from a training session which included the likes of Oliver Skipp, Kyle Walker-Peters. Troy Parrott, Harry Kane, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Erisken and record signing Ndombele.

Ryan Sessegnon breakthrough?

Football.london understands Spurs are looking to tie up a deal for Ryan Sessegnon before transfer deadline day.

Developments on Saturday appeared to have handed the Lilywhites a massive boost in their long pursuit of the highly-rated teenager.

In the matchday squad named by Fulham boss Scott Parker for the Championship game against Barnsley, there was no room for Sessegnon.

However, Sessegnon not being named in the squad might not be solely down to an imminent transfer to Spurs.
