Spurs news: Champions League boost, Troy Parrott decision, Lo Celso injury details

The return of the Premier League is just around the corner.

After two weeks of international football, we are ready to get back into domestic action.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has plenty to mull over as Tottenham prepare to take on Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

He has a number of players returning from time with their countries in high spirits and he will be looking for his team to kick on after an indifferent start to the campaign.

Here we round up all the biggest news stories from around Tottenham in the past 24 hours, including a look at young Troy Parrott.

Champions League boost

Tottenham have been handed a Champions League boost - for the 2020/21 season.

That is providing the qualify for the tournament of course.

Spurs have been in Europe's top tier competition for the past three seasons and will be hoping to qualify again come the end of this campaign.

And if they do, they have been handed a timely boost.

Troy Parrott decision

Teenage striker Troy Parrott has enjoyed a superb rise to the top.

The youngster was taken on Spurs' pre-season tour of the Far East and was named in Tottenham's Champions League squad for the 2019/20 campaign.

He has also been rewarded with an international call-up, scoring three goals in two games over the internatioanl break for Ireland's U21s.

Mauricio Pochettino made an early decision about Parrott and Alasdair Gold has looked at why the boss has been treating the striker differently.

International performances

As well as Parrott, there were plenty of other Spurs stars in action during the international break.

They will all be returning to Hotspur Way for training ahead of the return of the Premier League this weekend.

Spurs have a game with early high-flyers Crystal Palace at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to look forward to, but who is returning in high spirits and who has had a bad couple of weeks?

Lo Celso injury details

Tottenham look set to be without new signing Giovani Lo Celso for six weeks.

And that has left Spurs fans fuming.

Lo Celso has been eased into action in N17, but despite his lack of games he was called up for Argentina over the international break.

And while playing against Chile, he picked up and injury that will keep him out until October.
