Spurs news: Big Champions League decision, Juan Foyth omission, Christian Eriksen latest

It may be the international break, but news doesn't stop around Tottenham Hotspur.

The players may be away with their international teammates and Pochettino has a number of meetings, but there is still plenty to discuss.

There has been lots going on, particularly in terms of squad news, as after the Premier League group was named, it was the turn of the Champions League squad to be announced.

That and more is below in our round up of the biggest news stories from around Spurs in the past 24 hours.

Champions League squad

Tottenham have named their squad for the Champions League this season.

Clubs had to name their 25-man squads (or less if they did not have enough locally-trained players) by midnight on Tuesday.

There was one big inclusion, and one surprising exclusion.

And why one person didn't get included here.

Christian Eriksen latest

Christian Eriksen will remain a Tottenham player, at least until January.

The transfer windows have shut in all European countries now, meaning speculation over his future ends. For now.

Eriksen is away on international duty with Denmark now and coach Jon-Dahl Tomasson has been talking about the playmaker's future.

And he has said exactly what the Spurs fans want to hear.

Arsenal transfer hint

Tim Sherwood's reign as Tottenham manager was not one the Spurs fans would speak about in particularly glowing terms.

And his work as a pundit will not be viewed in glowing terms either given his most recent comments.

Sherwood was on Sky Sports' The Debate show on Tuesday night and was asked about Tottenham's probalems with players running down their contracts.

And what he said about two of them will not have gone down well at all.

Pochettino's big decisions

It's going to be very quiet at Hotspur Way over the next week or so with the majority of the squad on international duty.

With a number of players staying local for the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Davinson Sanchez and Giovani Lo Celso will both be playing in the United States for their respective countries and Son Heung-min will also be getting the air miles in as South Korea play in Turkmenistan.

Mauricio Pochettino revealed at his press conference last Friday that he also faces a busy week as he will be travelling due to prior commitments and he does have a meeting with Daniel Levy before taking in some international games.

So what does Pochettino have to sort out when he returns?

We took a look here.
