Spurs news: Behind the scenes on Eriksen and Dier, Jack Clarke update, midfielder's message

It is a busy time at Tottenham.

Although Mauricio Pochettino would quite like there to be no distractions so he can focus on what his team are doing on the pitch.

The distractions of the European transfer windows are causing problems for the Spurs boss, but on the pitch, four points from two games represents as good start to the season.

One player has already left the club this week and two more could follow soon enough.

Jack Clarke issue

Tottenham sent Jack Clarke back to Leeds United on loan this summer, having signed him from the Whites for £8.5million.

It looked to be a good decision, as he could develop under Marcelo Bielsa in the Championship.

And while it has not worked out that way so far, Bielsa has issued an update on the issue.

Midfielder's classy goodbye message

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Samuel Shashoua has joined Tenerife on a permanent deal and has posted a heartfelt message to the club and the fans.

The 20-year-old midfielder tied up a switch to the Spanish Segunda División side on Friday after coming through the Spurs academy, but failed to make a competitive appearance for the senior side.

Mauricio Pochettino's Newcastle hint

Mauricio Pochettino may just have dropped a big hint about the team he'll be picking against Newcastle United.

Son Heung-min is set to return after serving a suspension for the opening two games of the season, but competition is high for places, with Lucas Moura impressing twice so far despite not starting.

Meanwhile, Giovani Lo Celso is available following his move from Real Betis, and made an appearance off the bench against Manchester City. Will the Argentine midfielder be starting any time soon?
