Spurs' Leonard remains questionable for Game 3 against Warriors

SAN ANTONIO _ With a full three days of rest between Games 2 and 3, Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs have returned to San Antonio with some extra time to get their small forward ready for a pivotal game in their season on Saturday night.

But as of Friday afternoon, when Leonard spoke with reporters, he was still officially listed as questionable on that bothersome left ankle. He did not practice.

"I'm not sure, I mean, it's still not ready," Leonard said. "It's just questionable for tomorrow. I could be feeling way better. We'll see tomorrow."

Trailing 2-0 in the West Finals, the Spurs need Game 3 to inject even some mild intrigue in a series that some think could be destined for a third straight Warriors sweep. Leonard's presence would help that quest. But even if he decides to play through the injury, his words after Friday's practice don't sound too encouraging.

"Just seeing if I can run and at least be myself on the court," Leonard said. "Don't want to hobble around or shoot off-balance shots. Just want to be able to push with both legs. Just that, really."
