Ledley King has backed the decision to send Jack Clarke to Leeds United on loan this season, saying that playing regular football is the best thing for him.
Tottenham completed a deal to bring the 18-year-old to north London earlier this week, before immediately announcing that he'll return to Elland Road on a season-long loan.
Clarke was largely limited to cameo appearances for Marcelo Bielsa's side last term, and speaking to Oddschecker , King said that the decision to send Clarke back to Leeds for another season would be hugely beneficial for his development.
He said: "I think he’s (Jack Clarke) is a terrific young player and it’s important that he now goes back to Leeds to develop his education further.

“It’s important at that age to play football, it’s not easy when you take a young kid out of playing regular football.”
Asked if Clarke could break into the Spurs starting XI, King said: "Eventually, yes. But he’s got a lot to learn and there’s a host of top-class players playing in the current team.
“That will be his task, to make the manager (Pochettino) pick him. If he has a good season again at Leeds, he’ll come back and will be in the manager’s thoughts.”
