Spurs fans will love what Harry Redknapp has said ahead of Champions League final with Liverpool

Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp believes his old side are destined to win the Champions League final against Liverpool next week.

Spurs face the Reds in an all-English final at the Wanda Metropolitano in London next Saturday, with the managers of both clubs - Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp - both aiming to win their first trophy at their respective clubs.

But Redknapp, who managed Spurs between 2008 and 2012 and led them to the quarter-finals of the competition in the 2010/11 season, reckons Tottenham have what it takes to win in Madrid, despite Liverpool being the favourites for the final.

"You just get the feeling that Tottenham have got their name on the trophy," Redknapp told the Mail Online .

"They've gone through when they looked like going out in the knockout stages, last minute goals in other games got them through.

"It's been drama after drama after drama - the Manchester City game away with VAR. I've just got the feeling that Tottenham have got their name on the trophy this year - I really do.

"I'm a big fan of both clubs. I'm a big Liverpool fan, but I've just got a feeling that Tottenham, it could well be their year."

And Redknapp is expecting a good game in Madrid, adding that if Harry Kane is fit for Spurs, it could make for a great spectacle for the neutrals.

"Tottenham are dangerous. Tottenham are an excellent team," he said.

"If Harry Kane is fit and you've got a forward line of Kane, Lucas Moura, Son, Dele Alli in behind - it's a bit of a scary proposition.

"Both teams are great going forward, attacking full backs. I'll be very surprised if we see a boring game. I think there will be goals."

Spurs fans will be hoping Redknapp is right and that Pochettino's men will be celebrating in six days time.
