Spurs fans will love what Denmark boss has said about Christian Eriksen amid Real Madrid rumours

Denmark coach Age Hareide has spoken about the possibility of Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen leaving for Real Madrid this summer.

Eriksen continues to be linked with a move away from the Premier League and Hareide has opened up on the situation.

Hareide refused to build up the transfer rumour and suggests that most of his national team players like Eriksen are happy at their current clubs, while he suggested 27-year-old doesn't need to move to improve his reputation.

"Michael Laudrup became an icon after playing in both clubs down there (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona)," Hareide explained.

"Christian is perhaps an icon already. It will be good PR, but Tottenham is in the Champions League final. It’s not Real Madrid.

“We haven’t talked about the future, and I don’t do that with some players. My experience is that most players feel good where they are.

“There are some who ask me about a club change, but if they want to work it out themselves, I don’t interfere.”

The current situation for Eriksen is relatively simple in regards to the chance of him moving to Real Madrid this summer.

Eriksen wants to join Real at some point in his career but remains happy at Tottenham for now.

Should Real come calling it would be hard for Eriksen to turn the opportunity down. However, as reported by football.london previously, if it turns out that the Danish star is not a priority, it's quite likely he signs another deal at Spurs.
