RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano has been linked with a January transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
Bleacher Report, as per The Boot Room, claim that the north London outfit are ready to make a move for the Frenchman.
The price tag on Upamecano's head, according to Bleacher would be £50million in January, with RB Leipzig looking for somewhere between £40million and £50million in the summer if contract talks continue to falter.
Were Spurs to pull off this big-money signing, it's likely that Upamecano would be a long-term replacement for Toby Alderweireld or Jan Vertonghen - or possibly both.
The Belgian pair are out of contract at the end of the season, and there's no sign that either player will be signing a new deal.
Upamecano is widely regarded as one of the most promising centre-backs in European football and would be a massive coup if the Lilywhites are able to secure his signature.
Linked with a move to north London rivals Arsenal during the summer transfer window, Kicker have recently reported that Leipzig are worried about losing the 21-year-old on a free when his contract expires in 2021 and could now accept a lower offer.
But will he be making the switch to England in 2020?
As expected, a transfer rumour such as this one has prompted a big response from a large number of Spurs fans on social media.
