Spurs fans show their class over new Everton stadium as Liverpool supporters make copycat claims

Everton have released a video to show off their plans for a new stadium on the site of Bramley-Moore Dock.

The location would put the 52,000-seater ground on the banks of the Mersey River and bring them within just over 2,000 seats of matching the capacity at Anfield, home of Liverpool.

Earlier this year, Tottenham Hotspur moved back to White Hart Lane with a new, state-of-the-art venue that has been hailed as the most advanced football stadium in Europe.

It boasts a range of features designed to mark it out against its competition including the largest single-tier stand in England and on the continent.

The team behind the plans for the new Everton stadium have included their own single-tier stand in the proposal to replace Goodison Park as the home of the Toffees.

Perhaps inevitably comparisons are already being made, with Liverpool fans claiming that their local rivals have been lacking in imagination.

Spurs fans see it differently.

Having waited to move into their own exciting new stadium, Tottenham supporters on social media have sent their best wishes to Everton to share in their joy.

According to the Liverpool Echo , the single-tier stand could potentially hold as many as 13,000 Everton fans on a match day, with a design that would allow safe standing to be introduced in the future.

The new Spurs stadium boasts a capacity of 62,062 with a single-tier stand that can hold 17,500 supporters.

Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United, remains the ground with the largest capacity in the Premier League and can seat 75,731 fans on a match day.
