Spurs fans have brilliant Bruno Fernandes transfer theory after Gedson Fernandes announcement

Some Tottenham fans believe they have spotted a sign that Gedson Fernandes may not be the only Portuguese midfielder joining the club this month.

Fernandes has joined Spurs on an 18-month loan deal, with Tottenham also having the option to sign the Benfica midfielder on a permanent basis as part of the deal.

The 21-year-old has become Spurs' first signing of the January transfer window - and Jose Mourinho's first signing as Tottenham head coach - after completing his move to the Premier League, having also been linked with West Ham United.

But he is not the only Fernandes Tottenham have been linked with, amid interest in signing Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United.

Everything you need to know about the January transfer window

However, some Spurs fans have a transfer theory about a possible deal for Bruno Fernandes, after the club confirmed the shirt number for their new signing, who will wear the number 30 shirt, with the name Gedson on the back.

Here's what some Spurs fans have been saying.

However, it has been widely reported that Bruno Fernandes could join Manchester United, with the Red Devils said to be making a move to sign the Portuguese star.

United are the odds-on favourites to sign the Portuguese star, who was heavily linked with Spurs in the summer transfer window.

Fernandes himself has recently spoken about Spurs' interest in him, after a move failed to materialise for him in the summer.
