Spurs fans ask the same question as Rugby League Ashes announced at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Spurs announced on Thursday morning that they would be hosting a Rugby League Ashes test in 2020.

It will be the first test series between Australia and England for 17 years, with Spurs hosting the third and final match of the series following games in Bolton and Leeds.

The stadium saw the successful hosting of two NFL games in October, which brought in plenty of profit for the club.

And now the club's announcement of another sport taking place during next year's international break will add to the amount of fixtures, alongside another two NFL games, expected to take place in October once again.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said in a statement: "An Ashes test not only sees us host one of sport's great rivalries in England and Australia but we'll also have the chance to see players at the very pinnacle of Rugby League with these teams having contested the most recent World Cup Final in 2017.

"We are very excited to add another prestigious sport to our portfolio of world-class sporting and entertainment events that our multi-use venue will stage and we look forward to welcoming Rugby League fans to our home next year."

While the match could take place on the same alternative surface used for the NFL rather than the pitch used for first team games, Spurs have not confirmed this.

But it has led to questions from some of Spurs' supporters, regarding which surface will be hosting the game.
