Spurs fans are saying the same thing as Mourinho makes Christian Eriksen decision vs Southampton

Jose Mourinho has decided against including Christian Eriksen in his matchday squad for this afternoon's FA Cup clash against Southampton.

The 27-year-old has been in the headlines all month with a lot of speculation about a move to Inter Milan.

Eriksen was tipped to leave in the summer as he entered the final 12 months of his contract, yet no clubs made a move and he instead remained in N17.

Given the real possibility of losing the player on a free transfer at the end of the season, the Lilywhites could now make some money on their player by cashing in on him before Friday's transfer deadline.

Antonio Conte is keen to lure the talented player to the San Siro but agreeing on a fee has so far proved to be a stumbling block.

Mourinho, as expected, has named a very strong team to face Southampton in the FA Cup as he is intent on going far in the famous competition.

The head coach has made three changes to his side, with January signing Gedson Fernandes given his full debut.

Mourinho has also made a couple of changes in defence from Wednesday's game at Norwich with Davinson Sanchez and Japhet Tanganga coming in for Jan Vertonghen and Ryan Sessegnon.

The news about Eriksen has dominated talk on Twitter and Spurs fans have had plenty to say.

Whereas in the past Mauricio Pochettino didn't fully focus on winning the competition, Mourinho is going all out to get to Wembley in May.

"It is just a game, I don't even want to think about the competition," said the 56-year-old.

"If it was Southampton away in the Premier League it would be exactly the same for me. Nothing would change. In the league it could be top four, top six, it can be out of the top six. In the league it could be anything for us.

"In the FA Cup, let's see. In this moment 32 teams, let's try and be in the 16. Again, full respect to what Souhtampton is doing, we know it is going to be a very difficult match."
