Spurs eye Real Madrid star, Manchester City target Cancelo deal - European transfer rumours

The transfer rumour mill is hotting up as clubs across Europe continue to strengthen their squads.

As sides prepare for an assault on their domestic competition and the Champions League or Europa League, there's plenty of business to be done.

We've already seen Real Madrid make a major statement of intent with the signing of Eden Hazard from Chelsea for €100 million.

But what are their rivals up to?

We've rounded up all the latest transfer rumours from Europe and beyond...

City need to shift players to get Cancelo

Manchester City continue to be interested in Juventus' Joao Cancelo, but there's been little movement on that front.

But Tuttosport reveal one hold up in negotiations might be because of City's need to move a player or two on before they bring the Portuguese international to the Etihad Stadium

Danilo is expected to be the player who makes way for Cancelo, with the Turin side not interested in him being included in a makeweight in any deal.

That, and the price tag, seems to be the only sticking point.

Tottenham submit 'elite proposal' for striker'

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz - and Spanish publication AS say Mauricio Pochettino's side have submitted an 'elite proposal' for the Dominican Republic international.

AS Roma have also been credited with an interest in the striker, who hit 21 goals in 45 games for Lyon in the 2017-18 season.

Director comments on Newcastle striker

Alaves have been linked with a move for Newcastle United's Joselu, with the Spaniard heavily linked with a move to the Basque Country.

Now sporting director Sergio Fernandez has revealed he is interested in the former Stoke City man, with AS quoting him as saying: “Of course I like him, but his rights belong to another club.”

Wolves midfielder subject of AC Milan interest

Ruben Neves is wanted by AC Milan, according to Sport Mediaset

The Rossoneri are 'secretly working' to sign the midfield star, who it is claimed Neves wants to turn out for and follow in the footsteps of idol Andrea Pirlo.

Clubs following Man City man

Anderlecht have been credited with an interest in Manchester City midfielder Philippe Sandler.

Belgian publication Het Laatste Nieuws reckon the Belgian side, now under the management of City great Vincent Kompany want to sign him up.
