Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Micky van de Ven, according to a report.
Sky Sports states that Spurs are in discussions with Wolfsburg over the potential transfer of the defender.
They state that an initial fee of £34.5million is close to being agreed between the clubs.
The report goes on to say that a deal could even rise as high as £43m in add-ons.
Once the deal is finalised, the Dutchman, 22, is expected to travel to the UK to undergo a medical.
Sky says the player is understood to be very keen on the move.
Should a deal go through, he will become Ange Postecoglou's fourth signing of the summer.
Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon have already joined since the Australian's arrival in June, while Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski made their loan moves permanent.
It comes as Maddison admits he'd love to see Harry Kane stay put at Tottenham.
The pair have played together for England, and they're now both on board at Spurs.
Maddison became one of the first signings under the new Postecoglou era in North London, arriving from Leicester City for around £40million.
And while Kane's future has dominated the headlines for much of the Australian's early tenure in charge, Maddison insists the striker has not been a distraction in the first-team squad.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy reportedly met with Bayern officials in London on Monday and the club’s recent Asia-Pacific tour occurred amid constant talk of Kane’s future, with a BILD journalist able to unveil a Bayern shirt with ‘Kane 9’ on the back to Postecoglou during a media activity.
But Maddison, speaking at the TNT Sports start of season event in London, said: “It hasn’t been a distraction, Harry is super professional.
“I won’t go into details because I don’t know anything and let’s be respectful about Harry’s situation.
“Everyone knows what Harry Kane is like, he’s a super professional guy and whatever club he is at, whenever he goes into training he gives 100 per cent and it’s the same as all the lads so not (a distraction) at all really.
“We were friends before I joined Tottenham from the England squad, we have similar interests and get on well anyway away from football.
“I would love Harry Kane to stay, he’s the best number nine in the world in my opinion, but what will be, will be and Harry is super professional.”
