Self-described Brexit hardman Steve Baker was found apparently 'fuming' after being snubbed for a senior Government job by Boris Johnson .
The hardline Brexiteer had reportedly been hoping for a seat at Boris Johnson's cabinet table.
But after a lengthy meeting with the Prime Minister as he made his final junior ministerial appointments last night, he revealed on Twitter that he had turned down a job offer.
Baker wrote: "With regret, I have turned down a ministerial job.
"I cannot repeat my experience of powerlessness as a junior [ Brexit ] minister with the work done in the Cabinet Office."
He added: "I have total confidence in Boris Johnson to take us out of the EU by 31 Oct."
But he warned: "Disaster awaits otherwise."
Baker was ambushed by cameras as he left Downing Street - and he appeared fuming after his sit-down with the PM.
Asked by ITV how the meeting went, he said: "We had a very cordial meeting, thankyou."
He remained silent when he was asked what job he had been offered, but asked if he would be in the cabinet, he replied: "I will NOT be serving in the cabinet."
He added: "I don't have anything to say about our conversation."
It was reported Mr Baker had been left furious by Jonson's job offer, and had "stormed out" of the meeting.
