Springhill Boxing Club celebrated its 45th anniversary with a surprise party in the Station Hotel, Shotts earlier this month.
Head coach Frank Delaney also celebrated 45 years’ service with the club.
The event, which was attended by just under 80 family, friends and former and present members of the club on November 6, was organised by officials, without Frank knowing.
Secretary Brian Murray welcomed everyone, and Frank was particularly moved by speeches made by former members Martin McCrum and Paul Graham, who spoke highly of Frank and the positive effect he has had on so many lives over the years.
Current member Steven Deighan also spoke of the difference the club has made to his life.

Frank was presented with trophies and a canvas to commemorate the evening, and also received many personal gifts.
A club spokesperson said: “Everyone enjoyed a lovely meal and the chance to catch up and reminisce.
“Frank found the whole evening very emotional and is very grateful to those who took the time to come along to pay tribute to him.
“A lot of old stories were told, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the night, and we’re looking forward to the 50th Anniversary celebrations.”
