Springfield Road Belfast closed as emergency services attend scene of 'serious crash'

Emergency services are at the scene of a 'serious crash' in West Belfast.

Motorists are advised that the Springfield Road is closed this morning between Springfield Park and New Barnsley Park, following the road traffic collision.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Please see alternative routes for your journey."

Local Sinn Féin councillor Micheal Donnelly also appealed for the public to avoid the area.

Cllr Donnelly said: "Folks, there’s been a serious car accident at Junction of Springfield Road/Springfield Park. Please avoid!"

There are reports that an Air Ambulance has landed close to the scene.

Belfast Live has contacted the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service for comment.
