Springfield Dam police appeal after young boy left with second-degree burns

A young boy who was pushed into a fire lit by youths at Springfield Dam has suffered second-degree burns to his hands and back.

The incident happened in the early hours of Monday and has been labelled 'deliberate' by police .

A suspect has been described as being approximately 19-years-old, 6ft 2ins, thin with brown hair and a brown beard.

A police spokesperson said: “Woodbourne LPT are appealing for witnesses to a very serious assault which occurred on Monday 18th March 2019 at approximately 0145 hours. 

“Were you in the area of Springfield Dam on Monday 18th March 2019 at approximately 0145 hours? Do you know of anyone matching this description who may have been in the area at this time?”
