Springburn attack: Man rushed to hospital after assault on Galloway Street

A man was rushed to hospital after being attacked in Springburn in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called to Galloway Street shortly after 4.30am after reports of an assault.

The 44-year-old victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated and has since been released.

Police have launched an investigation into the attack and are calling on anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of man having been assaulted on Galloway Street in Glasgow shortly after 4.35am on Saturday, 15 May.

"The 44-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and has since been released.

"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone witnesses or anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0720 of 15 May."
