Spring wine fair proves popular in Castle Douglas as more than 75 people attend

A spring wine fair took place in Castle Douglas recently.

Around 75 people took the opportunity to taste a wide variety of wines at AD Livingston and Son on King Street.

Some gins were also available, including products from Oro gin distillery at Dalton.

The day was put together by Chris Bain of The Bottle List.

He said: “We held a Christmas wine fair in November and we had around 120 people but this time I wanted it to be more of a boutique event.

“We have a wine club and members were given the first chance to buy tickets, then we opened it out.

A Castle Douglas man is on a mission to raise funds for the End Polio Now charity  

“Kenny Livingston is a friend and by holding it in the gallery space there it let people see some of the paintings as well, so it was killing two birds with one stone.”

Chris and Kenny are now hoping to run a pop-up wine and gin bar over the summer.
