Spotify Wrapped 2022: Release date and why the last two months of the year are not included in results

The end of the year is suddenly in sight and whilst many will be looking ahead to Christmas, avid music fans will be thinking about their Spotify Wrapped 2022.

The much-anticipated annual reveal of your listening habits is fast-approaching and soon people will be posting all the details to their Instagram stories and Twitter.

People have been posting videos online reminding people that Spotify stops tracking your listening habits after October 31, meaning you can get back to listening to that embarrassing soundtrack you don't want people to know about.

But when can you expect to see your personalised results and why does Spotify not count the last two months? Here's everything you need to know.

Spotify Wrapped 2022 release date

Spotify Wrapped 2021 is already available and can be accessed here, but you'll still be waiting a few weeks for this year's edition.

Spotify is free for all users regardless of whether you are on the free version or paid subscription.

There is no official release date but looking at previous years, all will likely be revealed in the first week of December. The 2021 Spotify Wrapped was released on December 1.

How to access Spotify Wrapped 2022

You can access your Spotify Wrapped 2022 here. It will also appear on your homepage and you will likely get a notification telling you it's ready to be viewed.

Why Spotify stops tracking listening habits on October 31

Spotify previously confirmed on Twitter that the last two months of the year are not tracked for Wrapped saying: “We’re afraid that listening to a bunch of stuff right now will not make any difference to this year’s or next year’s Spotify Wrapped. This is because it only covers from January 1 to October 31. Hope this clears things up.”

Whilst they have not yet given a firm reason as to why this is, many think its due to the festive season with people starting to play Christmas music on repeat as soon as Halloween is over whilst others think it's just as simple as the company making sure they have enough time to prepare the app and your results in time for the end of the year.
