Spotify Wrapped 2021 just launched - how to find and share yours

Spotify Wrapped, the streaming giant's yearly list of each user's top listens and the top songs and artists of the year, launched today.

Every year since 2016, Spotify has released the 'Wrapped' campaign in December to show users an overview of their listening history which people have taken a liking to sharing on social media.

Users' personalised Spotify Wrapped this year comes with some new features, like pairing people's top songs with classic movie scenes and an 'Audio Aura' based on your top two music moods.

The top five streamed artists this year were Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, BTS, Drake and Justin Bieber.

Olivia Rodrigo's 'drivers license' and 'MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name' by Lil Nas X were the top two most streamed songs globally.

The Spotify Wrapped 2021 list dropped today at 2pm UK time.

Other new features include a guessing game about your listening habits, plus a feature called Blend that matches up your music taste with those of your friends' and stream the blended playlist.

Users can access of individually curated lists in the 2021 Wrapped hub in the app.

Spotify listeners who are keen to share their lists can now do so on TikTok.

Olivia Rodrigo also dominated the most streamed album list, beating out 'Future Nostalgia' by Dua Lipa and 'Justice' by Justin Bieber.

Along with the top music statistics, Spotify shared the platform's most popular podcasts.

The top podcasts on Spotify were The Joe Rogan Experience, Call Her Daddy, Crime Junkie, TED Talks Daily and The Daily.

More unusual statistics showed that Spotify's 'Music for Plants' playlist grew by 1,400 per cent during the pandemic.

Spotify reported that there have been 42 million streams of vaccine-related playlists.

How to share your Spotify Wrapped 2021

1. Open the Spotify app.
2. Tap on the 'Your 2021 Wrapped is here' banner at the top of the screen.
3. Users can watch and tap through the slides of their listening statistics.
4. Almost each section has 'Share this story' text at the bottom - tap this to share onto the app or platform you wish. Apps you can share Spotify Wrapped to include Facebook Instagram, Instagram, TikTok and Snapchat.
5. At the end of the slides is an overview of your listening history this year. Tap 'Share' to share.
