NRL: the Raiders have finally got on the scoreboard in the second half. It probably won’t be enough. Melbourne 30 - Canberra 10, with 16 minutes to go. And sadly, this is where I have to say goodnight and close the blog as I’m back in here in 10 hours time. Thanks for your company and all the comments. I haven’t had time to read many of them, so if there are questions that have gone unanswered, sorry about that. Goodnight.

AFL: It’s also halftime in Gold Coast. GCS 3.6.24 - Carlton 3.4.22.

AFL: It’s halftime in Adelaide and it’s Crows 6.8.44 - Demons 5.7.37.

NRL: nine minutes into the second half and the home side’s dominance continues. It’s Melbourne 30 - Canberra 4.

AFL: two minutes to halftime and it’s Adelaide Crows 43 - Melbourne Demons 36.

AFL: it’s halfway through the second quarter in Adelaide and it’s Crows 42 - Demons 22. It’s halftime on the Gold Coast and it’s GCS 24 - Carlton 22.

NRL: it’s halftime in a rain-sodden Melbourne and it’s Storm 24 - Canberra 4. The Raiders are going to have to be far better in the second half if they are to overcome that deficit.

AFL latest: Gold Coast 22 - Carlton 15, almost halfway through the second quarter, and Crows 28 - Demons 19 at quarter time.

NRL: it’s raining heavily in Melbourne. Being in Sydney, I’d forgotten what that looked like. It hasn’t dampened the Storm though, and they lead 18-4 over the Raiders with seven minutes left in the first half.

AFL latest: Gold Coast 21 - Carlton 8 in the just started second quarter. And Crows 21 - Demons 12 with five minutes left in the first quarter.

If cycling is your thing, there is also a Tour de France liveblog now.

Updated

Assuming there is a big NRL/AFL/rugby/netball/Kate Bush crossover market, here are 60 things you didn’t know about Kate Bush, to celebrate her 60th birthday.

GWS Giants beat St Kilda!

Final score: GWS Giants 13.8.86 - St Kilda 8.13.61.
