Tomorrow, West Lothian will turn yellow as Livingston bid for League Cup glory.
Unfortunately, there will be no streams of cars travelling along the motorway on the way to Hampden.
There will be no pals in pubs or back gardens soaking in the occasion.
There will be no party at the stadium if they win. Sadly, that’s just the times we are living in.
But we know you’ll be glued to the television screens watching the drama unfold, champagne on ice just in case, snacks lined up on the living room table.
Fingernails being bitten from the moment you wake up.
Pacing up and down for 90 minutes or more. It will be an emotional roller-coaster, no doubt.
It’s been 17 years since the Lions reached a major cup final. It’s been a long time.
Many Livingston fans can still rhyme off the starting line-up from that 2004 League Cup final triumph over Hibs. Heroes every one of them.
But it’s time for a new group of heroes to emerge. For a new generation of Livi fans to revere the likes of Jon Guthrie and Scott Robinson the way the older generation loves Derek Lilley and Jamie McAllister.
They have the chance to inspire the youth of the town, and the county.
The achievement in reaching Sunday’s Betfred Cup final is remarkable but nobody wants to be second best.
St Johnstone will prove to be formidable opponents on the day and the result may well go their way but it won’t be for a lack of effort and desire from David Martindale’s men.
They’re just one win away from creating history.
