Sports picture of the day: Not the year to be a pro cyclist

When we thought things couldn't get any worse for professional cyclists on the European circuit this year, the Giro takes it one step further – as it usually does, although this year by bad luck rather than design. Nibali took the final mountain stage to Tre Cime Lavaredo, his dominance on the race well and truly asserted, despite the somewhat neutered parcours, he was demonstrably stronger than the rest of the peloton over the three weeks.
