Of course it’s way too early to try and figure out how the NFL Draft is going to go next spring, but that hasn’t stopped multiple sites from predicting how it’ll all go even before the 2019 college football season has begun.
Count Sports Illustrated in that camp as well. It has come out with its 2019 College Football Preview, and as part of it, Albert Beer of the popular sports magazine has come out with his early 2020 top ten NFL Draft board projections, and Ohio State is well represented.
According to the list, both defensive end Chase Young and cornerback Jeffrey Okudau are both expected to go early in the first round. Beer has Young as the No. 3 overall pick, while Okudah is projected to go at No. 8. Here’s what he says about both.
On Chase Young:
With as high an athletic ceiling as any player, he made up for the loss of Nick Bosa on the Buckeyes’ line.
And on Jeffrey Okudah:
Finishing an up-and-down sophomore season strong, he has shown toughness and competitiveness on special teams.
While both of those are pretty general statements, it would be no surprise to see these two go very early in once all the fun starts kicks off in Vegas next year. For now though, let’s enjoy the season that’s about to kick off now in less than two weeks.
