Many fans in Denver are optimistic that the Broncos will compete for a Wild Card spot in the AFC West this season. Not all sports fans are quite that optimistic.
An unnamed sports fan dropped a lot of money on NFL future bets at the Bellagio in Las Vegas last week, including a bet on the Broncos.
The fan bet $20,000 that Denver will win fewer than 7.5 games this season, according to The Action Network’s Darren Rovell. Last year, oddsmakers gave Denver an over/under win total of seven wins and the team ended the season with a 7-9 record.
Among the other bets the fan made:
- $41,250 on Jaguars under five wins
- $25,000 on Packers above nine wins
- $25,000 on Cowboys winning their division
- $25,000 on Saints winning their divison
Clearly, this fan has a lot of money he’s willing to gamble.
Betting $20,000 on the Broncos to win more than 7.5 games this season could win $34,400 (including the stake) on BetMGM. Betting $20,000 on Denver to win fewer than 7.5 games could win $43,000.
