Sporting News ranks Oakland-Alameda Coliseum as 2nd-worst NFL stadium

The Raiders have agreed to play at least one more season at the historic Oakland-Alameda Coliseum before leaving for Las Vegas. It’s one of the most important stadiums in football history, and it will be a shame when the Raiders ultimately stop playing there.

However, not everyone is sentimental about the Raiders leaving the Coliseum. In a recent article by Sporting News, the Oakland-Alameda Coliseum was ranked as the second-worst stadium in all of the NFL, just ahead of FedEx Field. Take a look at what author Vinnie Iyer had to say about his rankings:

The Black Hole has plenty of team spirit, but unfortunately it got sucked into a ugly stadium situation, the biggest factor in forcing the Raiders to move to Las Vegas.

While the Coliseum could surely use some updates, it’s undoubtedly ranked far too low. Stadiums such as New Era Field, Hard Rock Stadium are certainly in worse shape and don’t have the historical importance as the Coliseum. For Raiders’ fans, the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum will always feel like home, no matter what shape the stadium is in.
