Spooky zombie run to take place in Kilmarnock for Hallowe'en

Zombies are set to take over the streets of Kilmarnock next month.

A series of spooky events will take place on Sunday, October 27 as part of the Kilmarnock Hallowe’en Running Festival.

On the day, a one-mile Hallowe’en fun run will be held at Ayrshire Athletics Arena and at 11am Ruby’s 5K road race will get underway.

In the afternoon at the Howard Park, a 2K zombie run will take place from 1pm to 3pm.

The concept behind the zombie run is that competitors will attempt to complete two 1K laps of the Howard Park while being chased by zombies.

If the competitors survive, they’ll receive a ‘survivor’s medal’ but if they’re caught, they’ll join the ranks of the undead with a ‘zombie medal’.

The joint venture is being run between Kilmarnock Harriers, Centrestage and The Brass and Granite in a bid to help attract folk to this year’s Killiewe’en and, more importantly, to raise money for Ayrshire Cancer Support.
