'Spooky' Halloween-themed climate strike in Edinburgh this Friday

A "spooky" Halloween-themed climate protest is planned for this Friday, by the group which led the recent climate strike march through Edinburgh.

A rally will be held outside the Scottish Parliament at 11am, with those taking part encouraged to come in fancy dress.

The Scottish Youth Climate Strike group is holding another Halloween demonstration in Glasgow's George Square at the same time.

A few dozen strikers are expected to turn up at the protests.

The group is calling for tougher action to tackle climate change, saying Scotland should be carbon neutral by 2030. They also want the national education curriculum to include the climate crisis as a priority.

Organisers say there will be "Spooky songs, climate chants and more!" outside Holyrood on the day.
