'Spookiest and most terrifying' drag brunch coming to Liverpool ahead of Halloween

The “spookiest and most terrifying” brunch is coming to Liverpool this weekend.

LUSH Liverpool is hosting a “ drag brunch extravaganza ” on Saturday, October 22. The two-hour event, starting at 1:30 pm, will feature food and drink from local vendors, “spooky party games” and “petrifying products”.

Playing “wonderful tunes for your heart” will be drag queen Filla Crack and having “trick and treats for your eyes” will be performer Dross. Filla, who previously shared their drag journey with the ECHO, takes inspiration from the late Cilla Black as well as the likes of Lily Savage and Crissy Rock to entertain the crowds.

The former LIPA student said: “When I was thinking about the character, I didn’t know who to base it on. But, I was brought up on the social club scene in Kirkby, which is filled with these strong powerful Scouse women who cracked on with their lives.

"They had this energy, that no matter how much oppression they faced, they just put a smile on their face and cracked on with things. Aesthetically, it’s women who had pixie cuts, wear cardigans, flared pants and a little bit of sequence and lip liner. Filla Crack is the culture of those women with personality and character that you will find in the social club in the suburbs of Liverpool.”

Guests will be also among the first to witness the store's Halloween decorations on the third floor and will be treated to a “vampire’s kiss drink” on arrival by The Cocktail Apothecarium LTD.

Attendees can choose from alcohol and alcohol-free options with the alcohol ticket entitling you to three glasses of Prosecco from Think Wine Group, a vegan and health-conscious choice. The food will be catered by the Brunch and Cocktail club, all of which will be vegetarian. However, vegan alternatives are available.

Liverpool Managers Sandra Byrne and Matt Reynolds added: "It’s an absolute pleasure to host our first Halloween-themed Drag Brunch on our third floor. No matter who you are or where you come from there is fun to be had and mischief to be made. Expect amazing food served by the Brunch Club, seasonal bath bomb making, and performances from our local drag artists. This is one not to be missed. "

Children under four are welcome to come but the store asks to be notified beforehand. The event is at LUSH Liverpool Spa, 38 - 46 Church Street Liverpool, L1 3AW
