Splendour organisers issue update on 2021 festival as lockdown easing is delayed

The organisers of Splendour festival have released a statement following the news coronavirus restrictions will not be eased in June.

It comes after the Prime Minister confirmed a four-week delay to the final lifting of lockdown in England and the current rules will remain in place until Monday, July 19.

It was announced earlier this year that the one-day event would go ahead at Wollaton Park, on July 24 2021.

The Government's update has cast doubt on many events planned for the summer, including festivals and club nights.

In a tweet, a spokesperson for Splendour said: "Following the latest government announcement that lockdown restrictions won’t be lifted entirely on 21 June, we’re looking into what this means for Splendour 2021.

"We know you’ll have lots of questions, please bear with us whilst we figure out the finer details. A full statement will be coming shortly. Thanks so much for your patience. Team Splendour x"
