Splendour Festival expected to go ahead as planned

Organisers “fully expect” Splendour to go ahead as planned this summer but will be keeping a close eye on any future coronavirus advice and “act accordingly”.

The annual family festival at Wollaton Park is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 18 with up to 25,000 people expected to attend.

Supergrass were announced as the headliners last month along with special guests James and Belinda Carlisle, no further line-up announcements have yet been made.

A statement from festival organisers DHP Family said as of today (Tuesday, March 17) the event would be going ahead as planned but safety was a number on priority and they would be keeping up to date with the latest advice from Public Health England.

If the festival is postponed tickets will be valid for a rescheduled date and if anyone cannot attend this a refund will be available.

The statement reads in full:

“We fully expect that Splendour Festival 2020 will be going ahead as planned and are currently working hard behind the scenes to deliver Nottingham’s biggest party of the summer!

“The safety of our amazing festival goers, staff and artists is our number one priority, and we’ll continue to follow all developments from Public Health England and act accordingly with their advice.

“All current reports lead us to believe that any restrictions placed on public gatherings will no longer be in effect by the time Splendour Festival comes around, however if any restrictions do affect us then the event will be postponed.

“In the unlikely event that we have to postpone Splendour Festival, your ticket will be valid for the new date. If you are unable to make the new date, you will be given a refund on your ticket.”
