Splash out on a 'pee cup' so kids won't get caught short during long summer car trips

It always happens - you are well into a lengthy car journey when a child desperately needs to wee.

Miles from the nearest toilet, the idea of pulling into the nearest lay-by is not particularly attractive.

However, one Amazon business has decided to create an unusual product to counter ever being caught short in the car again.

The 'pee cup' costs £6.99 (Handout)

Known as a 'pee cup', company OneDone has created a portable potty that holds up to 500ml of liquid. It's described by the company as an 'emergency toilet for camping and car travel', as well as a tool for 'potty pee training'.

It has a style for boys and girls and are completely reusable - and from the reviews it's clear that people love them, PlymouthLive reports.

One user wrote: "I find it most useful on my town centre trips with my two year old as the only washrooms available are at one end of the high street. I park the buggy in some discreet corner or the nearest fitting room and do the needful."

Another left the review: "My 3 and 5 year olds are sometimes desperate to go and there are no toilets around and rather than making them wait they can use this. It's very easy to use and the lid locks tight."
