A Spitfire soars over the White Cliffs of Dover on the home run of a journey around the globe.
Pilots Steve Brooks and Matt Jones took four months to complete the trip in the Second World War fighter plane.
The 27,000-mile journey – the first of its kind in a Spitfire – involved stopping at 100 locations in 30 countries.
It came after enthusiasts spent two years restoring the Mk IX model, which was built in 1943, then painted it silver.
And Steve, who admitted it was “wonderful” to be home, said it was a hit worldwide.
The 58-year-old, from Burford, Oxon, said: “It’s been an incredible adventure and a privilege to share our Spitfire with the rest of the world.
“Of course, there have been challenges, but at every stop, we received incredible support from people on the ground.”
Their epic journey started and ended at Goodwood Aerodrome, West Sussex, home to Boultbee Flight Academy, the first school for Spitfire pilots.
Highlights included joining a Red Arrows flypast at Canada’s parliament and “victory rolling” over Egypt’s pyramids.
On landing, 45-year-old Matt, from Exeter, Devon, was met by partner Nikkolay James and nine-week-old son Arthur.
