Spirits of Scone returns from the shadows to haunt Scone Palace on Hallowe’en once more

The terrifying Hallowe’en spook-tacle, Spirits of Scone, will reemerge from the shadows to haunt the grounds of Scone Palace once more.

Running from October 22-31, the outdoor event will take visitors on a one-hour fright fest of adventure and mayhem through the historic grounds of the five-star visitor attraction, with organisers promising “more scares than ever before”.

The grounds will be transformed into a terrifying playground of menacing ghouls and horror film freaks, brought to life by Create Events.

In the dark, visitors will take a route through the palace grounds passing through areas such as the Ghostly Woods and Zombie Graveyard and will meet frightful characters such as the Cannibal Family and Macbeth’s witches.

Organisers have warned visitors to ‘enter only if you dare’, where they will be met with horrifying characters lurking in the grounds, played by a group of ‘jump scare’ actors from Create Events.

Due to the fear factor, they have advised that the event is not suitable for young children or those of a nervous disposition.

Visitors are welcomed to get into the spirit of Hallowe’en by dressing up in a scary outfit, although no full-face masks will be permitted at the event.

Organisers are looking forward to welcoming visitors into the palace and grounds after the 2020 spook-tacular was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

Head of events at Scone Palace, Heather McArthur, said: “After a year of being unable to run the event due to the pandemic, we’re delighted to be able to inject the horror back into Hallowe’en with our Spirits of Scone event at Scone Palace.

“People love to be scared at Hallowe’en and the grounds here at Scone Palace make for the perfect atmospheric setting for a fright fest, with lots of dark corners and wooded areas for ghouls and ghosts to hide in.

“This year is set to be our best event yet and we have a number of spooky surprises in store for our visitors – it’s not for the fainthearted.”

The Spirits of Scone shop will also be open, selling a selection of spooky souvenirs including T-shirts, tote bags, badges, magnets, torches, and beanies.

A selection of hot food will also be available, along with marshmallow sticks for toasting over the firepit.
